How to store batteries?

To maximize shelf life, there are a few things you can do:

Store them at room temperature or at least within the range of 10° to 25°C. Anything higher could potentially cause batteries to self-discharge quicker. Theoretically, the colder, the better. However: storing them in the refrigerator or freezer may lead to condensation.

Keep them dry, as moisture could lead to condensation and may cause short circuiting and even permanent damage. If possible, keep them in their original packaging, as the packaging was designed to maximize shelf life in the first place. Also, this will make it easier to keep batteries of the same age and expiry date grouped together - which is crucial to maximize their performance.
